Note: For reasons related to software compatibility, we have not yet enabled Emerson-managed computers on older versions of macOS to upgrade to Monterey.
If you are not yet able to upgrade to Monterey, please make sure automatic updates are enabled on your computer by going to System Preferences from the Apple menu , then click Software Update and check “Automatically keep my Mac up to date.” This will ensure updates are applied once the older versions of macOS are patched. Note: Before upgrading, please back up all important data on your computer.įor mobile iOS devices, go to Settings > General > Software Update.įor personal and Emerson-managed Mac computers already on macOS Monterey, please follow Apple’s instructions to run updates. Specifically, Macs running lower than Monterey 12.5.1 and Apple mobile iOS devices running a version lower than 15.6.1 are vulnerable.įor this reason, if your device supports it, we strongly recommend upgrading to MacOS 12.5.1 for laptops/desktops and iOS 15.6.1 for mobile devices. If your device is too old to support Monterey, you may want to start planning for a new device to ensure you can receive new security updates. Apple has been making headlines as their macOS and iOS software (for iPhones, iPads, Mac computers, etc.) contain newly discovered security vulnerabilities.
